Coatue Doubles Down On An AI Supercycle @ EMW 2025

Coatue Management, the prominent global investment firm known for its deep focus on the technology sector, has held an annual gathering for investors for the past decade. Dubbed “East Meets West” (EMW), their latest event took place on June 13 last and, as usual, it kicked off with a keynote hosted by the firm’s founder brothers

Since 2015, we've been proud to host our East Meets West conference in Montecito, CA, our annual gathering of technology and business leaders for a dialogue on global innovation. Our Co-Founders Philippe Laffont and Thomas Laffont opened the conference with their keynote address "Coatue View on the State of the Markets," and shared our outlook on the macroeconomic landscape and public and private markets.

If there was one key takeaway from the keynote, it would be their belief that we have entered into an AI supercycle which will improve employee productivity and drive US GDP growth to new heights over the coming decade. Apart from this, there’s a wealth of excellent slides on hyperscale CapEx, previous crises & downturns, etc. Overall, one gets the impression that Coatue puts a lot of emphasis on learning the lessons of history, something we can all benefit from.
