On March 1, ex Intel CEO Craig Barrett posted a rebuttal of his former board members opinion piece on the subject of the company’s future, details here.

This makes it his second time reiterating his view that Intel should not be split up as his former colleagues are advocating. It’s a brash headline, partially fueled one suspects by recent news from the company about their progress on high-NA lithography. Then there was that post on LinkedIn from an Intel engineer talking up the company’s progress on 18A, a post and a profile that have both since mysteriously disappeared.

Apart from that, Mr. Barrett’s timing was somewhat unfortunate, given the other news hitting the headlines last week was that Intel is putting construction of its flagship fab in Ohio on hold. Oh and then there’s co-interim CEO Michelle Johnston Holthaus new employment contract with Intel, and it’s a doozy.

There’s a lot to go over. Let’s dig in…
