For many years, consistent, reliable access to earnings call transcripts has been a headache for me. Originally they were freely available on Seeking Alpha, albeit they needed careful screening for technical typos. Now SA is pretty much completely pay walled. Motley Fool is still a useful source, mostly free for transcripts, but again they need thorough checking. Also, they usually don’t cover a lot of the Asian stocks I care about like SK Hynix, Globalwafers, SUMCO etc.

I’ve been trying for years to generate my own transcripts by using Google voice to text and playing back the webcast audio while trying to make corrections in real time. It was time consuming, stressful and the quality was so-so at best.

Now, in this regard, our new Research Agent is proving a game changer. It’s still early days, and even today we ran into problems which we eventually overcame. It’s delivering high quality transcripts directly from the earnings webcast itself (or YouTube), and it’s doing so in record time. Finally, technology is catching up with what I’ve longing for it to do. It’s genuinely exciting for me.

Going forward, I’ll be endeavouring to publish as many earnings call transcripts as possible on my substack. I will greatly appreciate any feedback you may have on the quality.
