Nanya. Tailwinds Mount Albeit Profits Still Elude
The earthquake in Taiwan could further constrain supply in the coming months
Some weeks ago, we wrote about Micron’s latest earnings Micron. Back In The Black & No Going Back. At the conclusion of that article, we noted the following:
In the meantime, the lagging node memory players, despite not having HBM to offer, will nonetheless benefit from the looming supply shortage in lagging node products. Nanya and Winbond in particular jump to mind, there are probably more.
In other words, our prediction was that having their larger competitors focusing so much on HBM would become a tailwind for the likes of Nanya and Winbond. That tailwind has now been joined by another, namely the impact of the earthquake in Taiwan some weeks ago. We think these tailwinds are slowly having an impact on Nanya’s share price with the downtrend that had been at play since the start of the year reversing course in mid-March, as you can see in the company’s latest chart below:
We discuss this in more detail against the backdrop of Nanya’s Q1 2024 earnings report and we dig a little deeper into the impact of Taiwan’s recent earthquake. Thanks as always for reading!
